"Bodies of Water" Complete 5E Lesson Plan for 3rd Grade-  A combined pdf of all activities in the 5E lesson plan.  Paper Mountains Activity showing river basins (from NISE Network)- This is a simple yet very effective hands-on activity to illustrate river basins and water movement. "Bodies of Water Around You"- student handout- A webquest-style activity which guides students through using Google maps to find bodies of water around them Percentage Water Area Per State Map- A tile map created by Caitlin Dempsey using US Census Bureau (2010) data. Can be used with students for graph interpretation practice Landscape images for "How Water Shapes the Land" activity- Four images of landscapes showing water erosion. Can be used as bell ringers to discuss erosion or engagers before the "Water Shapes the Land" lab activity. "Water Shapes the Land" lab activity-  In this activity to follow up the landscape images, students use trays, sand and water to simulate how water in different forms shapes the landscape through erosion.  "What's that Water Feature?" student handout- This is a good review worksheet for students to identify water features (eg. ocean, pond, gulf) . Note that the complete 5E lesson plan file (linked at the top of the list) contains teacher instructions, answer keys, etc that might not be included in the individual linked files.
